How Most American's View Democrats And Republicans

A 2009 poll from the Gallop organization concerned with how the American public views the two major political parties. Graphs show data collected between 1993 and 2009, allowing one to see how views have changed over time. Aside from views about how extreme each party may or may not be, more Americans feel that the Democratic Party's views are closer to what they are looking for.

Video - West Side Story: Updated For Geeks

The kids at College Humor produce a slick and clever version of "West Side Story" called "Web Side Story". It's all about the modern cyber-life we all live today. Go on, try to imagine Maria singing passionately about Flickr.

Video - 1500 Convicts Perform "Thriller"

I suppose it's something you have to see at least once. For some odd reason, perhaps because they ran out of other things to do, a group of 1500 orange-clad convicts in the Phillipines perform and videotape Michael Jackson's "Thriller". See them here at practice doing all the cool dance moves. I hope they got time off for good behavior.

Big Vault Of Noam Chomsky's Thoughts

Noam Chomsky is one of the most quoted people on Earth, especially when it comes to international politics. Noam seems to be rather apolitical, taking no particular side with any group. He more or less is a historian and social commentator, with a unique and amazingly well-informed view. Be warned, though. His tales of governmental activity are pretty distressing and depressing. It's not the bright, shiny world the media hands us to see.

Drawings of 700 Hobos

Okay. This is one of those art challenges where illustrators are given a description of something and then have to draw it. In this case, a list of 700 different hobo names was provided for artists to use their imaginations on. Monikers like "No-Shoulders Smalltooth Jones", "Lolly Hoot Holler", and "Sir Roundbelly DeDelight" were on the list of potential candidates. Got some time to kill? Go see what the art world came up with to put flesh on these fellows.
