Flying Spaghetti Monster, The Intelligent Designer

In response to the idea of an "intelligent designer" of life and the universe, one individual has proposed that the "Flying Spaghetti Monster" is in fact that entity. At least it is as good a candidate as any other is his opinion. The idea has slowly spread and has now achieved a cult following of sorts. Take a look and see if the FSM has not touched you with his "noodly appendage".

Brutally Honest Mobile Home Liquidation Commercial

Here's a commercial from I Love Local Commercials that takes honestly as its direction. It's for a small company that sells used mobile homes and they make no bones about the situation. Very effective and funny. "Buy from me... or don't. I don't care."

Video - Piling Food On Very Patient Pets In Japan

If you've ever seen a Japanese game show, you know they try to be as novel, clever and outrageous as possible, always incorporating a bit of self-torture and humiliation in their on-screen antics. Here we see some very well-disciplined animals that are having food piled up on or around them. The goal is to see how much food you can place near the pet before the pile comes tumbling down.

I don't know if this is real or from a movie. Or if it is spontaneous or staged. Either way, it makes a good point about fighting and showing off. Watch and you'll be amused. On Facebook.

Seriously "Out There" Human Haircuts

People, on occasion, like to experiment with new hairstyles. These, however, go way beyond the call of duty. A collection on Oddee of super-wacked-out trim jobs. I'm guessing most of you (not even me) would EVER do this to yourself.

Spricket24's "Glowing Monkeys"

I simply like listening to this girl. She's funny. Fortunately, she talks about stuff I am interested in. Here she goes on about how scientists have introduced a special gene into monkeys that make them glow in the dark. You remember the glowing bunnies, right?

Idiocracy - Why The World Is Getting Dumber

Here's the opening sequence of Mike Judge's cult film "Idiocracy". Briefly it demonstrates that idiots breed faster than smarter people, and that will lead to a hillbilly-like society of really, really low IQ citizens. (I think it's already happening) After you see this, go see the whole movie. Parts of it will remind you of WALL-E.

Geekologie - Stuff For Your Geekish World

I'm guessing there are other websites out that are devoted to "I'm a Geek and fiercely proud of it" lifestyle. But, Geekologie takes a good stab at providing the totally-commited Geek with the mind candy he or she needs to be happy. (Perhaps they should have called it "Nerd Diversion") As such, it's full of gadgets, entertainment and techno-gossip that will excite even the most obsessed "Dungeons and Dragons" brainiac.

Dispair - Misery Loves (This) Company

Many of you have probably seen those inspirational posters from Successories that promote "leadership" and "teamwork" by using soaring eagles and guys rowing one of those really narrow boats. Well, for all the other woes that life brings us, we can turn to Dispair.com, a company that presents us with more reality than we'd like to see. Bugged by giant social issues, or small personal inconveniences? Put a Dispair message on your shirt, wall or mug and let the world know how you feel. Actually, you might feel better, when you say "I told you so"!

A Young Boy's Groggy Post-Dentist Conversation

Judging from the 48 million view counts, you may have already watched the video affectionately entitled "David After Dentist". If not, here's your chance. It's a sweet and funny clip showing a conversation between a boy and his dad as they drive home from the dentist. David is obviously recovering from the anesthetic and behaves like an adult who is drunk. This, however, is David's first encounter with feelings of this type. His attempt to cope will no doubt bring a smile to your face.

Mating Silly Songs With World Of Warcraft

Videos by Spiff Booth need a bit more explaining than normal. The music comes from singer/songwriter Jonathan Coulton. It tends to be catchy, humorous, and full of unexpected references. Spiff takes Jonathan's recordings and creates computer animated videos for them using 3D characters and environments from World of Warcraft. This collision of influences produces an almost Alice In Wonderland craziness for the mind to digest. "Bacteria", my selected example, adds an additional layer of weirdness. The vocals were lifted from a KFC training video on food handling safety. Somehow, it all manages to work together.
