Alex Grey: Metaphysical, Anatomical Illustrator

Meet Alex Grey, a superb artist-illustrator who combines detailed human anatomy with the concepts of metaphysics and spirituality. His works are amazing visual adventures that feature living things, their internal workings and the mystical energy that flows through them. Personally, I have seen his "Sacred Mirrors" series on display and it is quite provocative and fascinating. I'm sure you will look at his works in wonder.

Video - Flying Down Mountains In Wing-Suits

This video is pretty incredible. It shows people skiing and jumping off high cliffs, then flying down the sides of mountains in "wing-suits". Not unlike what a flying squirrel does. This is amazing and outrageous. Extremely gutsy. They do have parachutes to help them land.

Seriously "Out There" Human Haircuts

People, on occasion, like to experiment with new hairstyles. These, however, go way beyond the call of duty. A collection on Oddee of super-wacked-out trim jobs. I'm guessing most of you (not even me) would EVER do this to yourself.

Geekologie - Stuff For Your Geekish World

I'm guessing there are other websites out that are devoted to "I'm a Geek and fiercely proud of it" lifestyle. But, Geekologie takes a good stab at providing the totally-commited Geek with the mind candy he or she needs to be happy. (Perhaps they should have called it "Nerd Diversion") As such, it's full of gadgets, entertainment and techno-gossip that will excite even the most obsessed "Dungeons and Dragons" brainiac.

I Must Go See "Burning Man" - Lotsa Videos

The annual "Burning Man" event in the Nevada desert is evidently a spectacle to behold. Out of nowhere a small city of free spirits and highly inventive artists assembles on the barren, dusty landscape. For a week, people create and do the most amazing things. It's a big hippie tribe where everyone is friendly and uninhibited. If you go, be sure to bring plenty of water.

Video - 1500 Convicts Perform "Thriller"

I suppose it's something you have to see at least once. For some odd reason, perhaps because they ran out of other things to do, a group of 1500 orange-clad convicts in the Phillipines perform and videotape Michael Jackson's "Thriller". See them here at practice doing all the cool dance moves. I hope they got time off for good behavior.

Mating Silly Songs With World Of Warcraft

Videos by Spiff Booth need a bit more explaining than normal. The music comes from singer/songwriter Jonathan Coulton. It tends to be catchy, humorous, and full of unexpected references. Spiff takes Jonathan's recordings and creates computer animated videos for them using 3D characters and environments from World of Warcraft. This collision of influences produces an almost Alice In Wonderland craziness for the mind to digest. "Bacteria", my selected example, adds an additional layer of weirdness. The vocals were lifted from a KFC training video on food handling safety. Somehow, it all manages to work together.

People Riding The End Of An industrial Robot Arm

Well, here's the latest in amusement-park/simulator-type rides... hooking yourself up to the end of an factory robot arm and having it toss you around randomly. They should probably name it the "hurl-o-matic". I can't imagine the sensations this situation must produce.

Top Gear's Oddball Car Race

A fine example of Top Gear's trademark automotive humor. A race between street-legal "cars" shaped like a sofa, wooden shed, ski boat, and amphibious metal skip. Who will win this competition of titans?

Exercising With Human Poodles

I'm just not sure what to think about this video. It's certainly an odd one. Here, a young woman conducts an exercise class where the participants are dressed up in poodle costumes.
